Run.

All it takes is all you got. ~ Marc Davis

“When I write, I feel His pleasure.”
Do you know who said that?

Eric Liddell the “Flying Scotsman” said it only he said “run” instead of “write”. Eric Liddell is, of course, the runner who refused to race on a Sunday to honor his spiritual practice and his life is portrayed in the 1981 film, Chariots of Fire.

Have you ever felt the pleasure of your Creator? I have. And let’s be honest, I’m not just talking about the ‘I’m loved just for being me-thing’.

No, I’m talking about when you are doing something – -working, gardening, swimming, babysitting, cooking, flying a plane, taking a photograph, closing a deal, winning a case, connecting two people, running, writing- – and you feel that all is right with the world and God is beaming at you.

You are good at what you are doing and you know it but it isn’t prideful. It’s not just something everyone feels good doing, YOU feel good doing it! And you feel something outside of yourself pressing you on, stirring your joy, and for a moment you think, I should do this all day every day!

soar.

soar.

Never felt that? Never?

Stop right now and do something, anything to find out what that thing is that when you do it you feel the pleasure of your Creator.

Try Living Inside Out or explore how to Dig Your Work. Find out What Color Your Parachute is or, like Forest Gump, take a long long long long run until you figure out what that thing is. And then start doing it every chance you get! (More on finding your calling from Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship).

And you know what? All your creativity for life and work will flow out of that thing.

Go do it!

I did. And you just read a fraction of what it is I do when I feel the pleasure of my Creator.

And when I read, write, or hear Eric Liddell’s quote, I cry every time – with joy!
