“We often refuse to accept an idea merely because the tone of voice in which it has been expressed is unsympathetic to us.”~ Nietzshce

freedom.
What is your voice? People tend to think of writing as conveying information. A lot of attention is spent on WHAT to say. Perfect copy does indeed have an informative intent and is structurally and grammatically correct. But people don’t tend to stay long on structure and grammar alone – no matter how technical the subject matter must be, your audience WILL stop reading if they are bored.
HOW you say what you need to convey is just as essential as WHAT you say (see how important those words are? they are CAPITALIZED, BOLD, and ITALICIZED)<< this is actually discouraged in writing but since this is my blog I can do that. Lesson: use these things sparingly when they are truly needed.
Voice is where the interest comes in. Voice, in my own definition is tone, creativity, word choice, and total impact. Voice as defined by Webster’s is:
4 a : wish, choice, or opinion openly or formally expressed <the voice of the people> b : right of expression; also : influential power
You wish people knew about your product or service. You have chosen a product or principle that you believe in or a pain that needs to be eased in society. You have an opinion about how you can help your community, make their lives better, and take away their pain. You want to openly express the availability, viability, and visibility of your product.
What would happen to your business if you had influential power (for good, people, not for evil, ok)?
What is your voice?
